London for the Sleep Deprived and Slightly Injured

Day one has been a wonderful adventure with only a couple of minor misadventures. Flying over, the seats reclined and a foot stool set up to make a bed inside the individual cubby. Around 2 am, I got up to go to the bathroom and when I came back, I put my knee on the footstool part of the bed. It collapsed and I crashed my nose into the top of the cubby. It is not broken, but it hurt like a big dog. It’s still sore and a little swollen.

Three of the few pictures I managed to take while falling asleep on the driving tour.
Not nearly enough to keep me awake.

Our tour of the city with our driver/guide Marco was great, except for the part where I fell asleep repeatedly. I asked to stop and bought and drank my first ever Red Bull. I should have bought two.

Everything about the Kensington was wonderful. I want to stay there again and again.

After the tour, we came to the beautiful Kensington Hotel where I fell into bed and slept like the dead for two hours. Evans showered but realizing I was down for the count he also took a brief rest.

We rallied and I discovered that somehow my iPad had become completely disabled. Since I brought my Bluetooth keyboard to use with it to keep a travelogue, we decided to try to get it fixed.

The London Apple store is just as packed as all other Apple stores, but we found a restaurant for dinner near there and it was so good. That is the high fashion district, so it was fun to window shop. The front desk clerk is bringing his personal computer in tomorrow so I can reset my iPad. What kindness.

My nose isn’t broken, my iPad can be fixed, a good night’s sleep will reset my body clock, and day one has been a great success.
